Book: 52 Little Lessons From It's A Wonderful Life
My rating: 5/5
I received this book from BookSneeze.com in exchange for a review.
This is a delightful little book! I'm a big fan of the movie so I knew I'd appreciate it and perhaps learn from it too.
Each chapter or "lesson" starts with a quote from the movie and a particular scene that will be discussed. The quotes are always good fun for me because I've seen this movie a few dozen times. As the scene replays in your head, you can envision the importance thus creates the learning experience. I would expect that anyone that hasn't seen the movie, should see this before reading the book in order to get the full effect.
Trivia about It's A Wonderful Life is also included in this book. A lot of things I did know, and there were a few I didn't know. Great reference material!
I highly recommend this book. It's fun, cute, informational, and makes a perfect gift!
I will end this now with a quote from the movie. This is my favorite quote from It's A Wonderful Life. It speaks volumes in just a few words.
"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives, and when he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" - Clarence
This one is a gem too!
"My mouth's bleeding, Bert!" :)

I think this is the most beautiful bible I have ever seen and I hope my niece will think so too. I will be presenting her with this on her wedding day in September. It would thrill me to no end if she decides to keep it with her at all times and it makes the trip to Europe for her honeymoon!

Book: Smitten by Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Diann Hunt, and Denise Hunter
My rating: 4/5
I received this book free from BookSneeze.com in exchange for a review.
I'm not one for romance books, but something about this one, got my attention. The first thing that drew me in was the size of this book. The 4 sections, or novellas weigh in at a hefty 432 pages. Not too big, but not small and wimpy at all.
I actually like the 4 short stories being broken up so I could learn more about each character in this small town. Each author wrote a story and I found that unique and I'm sure it was a bit challenging, too. They definitely pulled if off and created a delightful, creative, complete and connected story. They should be proud!
Most romance books are a bit heavy on the 'hot and heavy', but Smitten was written by four best-selling inspirational writers of today. Most will call this story a "clean" story, but I prefer to call it "real" and "honest". Just normal people doing normal things. In my opinion, a good book is one where you can picture yourself in it without it being a wild stretch of the imagination. If you agree, this book is definitely for you!
I highly recommend Smitten. It's a nice long read. A wonderful story with great flow and interesting characters.
